I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 35 years, helping individuals, couples, and families work through personal, emotional, relational and spiritual issues, who seek direction for growth, healing, and wholeness. I began my counseling career in the San Francisco Bay Area, then to Discovery Counseling Associates in Bellingham, and for 25 years as a Family Life/Community Care Pastor in Bellingham. I have a MA degree in Counseling from Cal State Hayward, University, and a MS of Theology through Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
It is a deep honor and privilege to serve a wide range of clients with various backgrounds and beliefs. I work to provide a safe space for individuals who are experiencing a variety of challenges: personally, relationally, those working through and deconstructing from past spiritual hurts, have experienced marginalization, are experiencing various life changes, and are longing to take next steps in their growth and healing. The journey of life can be challenging, lonely, and painful at times. The opportunity to serve clients by meeting them in the challenges, and together working toward greater empowerment and transformation is the goal of my work. Treatment approaches are respectful of the client, and are intended to aid in the pursuit of your established goals.
My Christian faith inspires how I see the world and the inherent value and dignity of each person. Taking a ‘whole person’ perspective, I am comfortable exploring issues of faith when they are important to the client. I welcome all faith backgrounds, or no faith backgrounds, and if the client wishes, understand how one’s spiritual perspective might affect the challenges being faced, as well as how it might provide resources and opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
